Had to wake up around 6:30am to get to the airport. Big thanks to Maree for not complaining and driving us to the airport 😗

The flight was just under 2hrs to get to Queenstown, which is on the South Island of New Zealand. We have a rental car for our road trip around the island so I finally got to drive a car on the left side of the road! Honestly, after having been in countries that drive on the left for the past month it wasn’t that hard to get used to. The hardest part is that the turn signal is on the right side of the steering wheel, so I accidently turned on the windshield wipers so many times instead of the turn signal lol. I’m starting to get used to it though.

Queenstown is absolutely beautiful! The mountains are gorgeous and the water is so blue. Ugh. Seriously trying to figure out why anyone lives in Chicago.

We found a trail around the Queenstown Gardens that gave us so many pretty views.

Seriously, so beautful.

When we were at the airport we were looking at brochures of things to do in Queenstown and found an escape room, so we decided to go try it out. We escaped with 2minutes to spare! It was a 1800s Murder at the Prince of Wales Hotel. It was a pretty fun escape room. There were secret doors that opened into other smaller rooms. We did pretty well for the most part, but definitely needed some clues as we went. We got to take some pictures at the end for fun!

Around 3pm we headed over to the hotel to check-in. I used my Hilton points from work travels to get us a night at the Hilton in town. It’s a nice little room- relaxing start to our road trip.

After a shower and relaxing session, we headed back into town for dinner and the gondola. We got some dinner at a pub near the water and I tried to figure out what was going on in the cricket game on tv. A guy had explained the rules to me back in Singapore so I get the general basics of the game, but I’m still very confused.

After dinner we walked over to the gondola. The gondola is about 1500 feet up from the town. Obviously, there were beautiful views.

We spent about an hour up on the mountain just soaking in the views (and laughing at people going down the luge ‘wooing’ at the same spot)

We are scheduled to skydive tomorrow unless the weather is too bad (Fingers crossed lol). Hopefully I sleep tonight instead of having panic attacks the entire night. Wow can you tell I’m really excited to skydive? In case I die, love you all ✌
